The Honorable Judge Tiffany Anderson
Sergeant Major (Retired) Scott L. Denson
Scott Denson is a C.E. Ellison High School alumnus from the class of 1985.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as a logistician and changed his life forever. During his service to the country, Denson valiantly deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2004 and 2006 as the first sergeant of the 289th Quartermaster Company and the logistics sergeant major for the 36th Engineer Brigade, respectively. For his honorable service and outstanding leadership on the battlefield, he was awarded two Bronze Star Medals, one for each tour of combat and the Combat Action Badge.
During his service, he also earned the Distinguished Order of Saint Martin, Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Regiment, Demonstrated Master Logistician by the international Society of Logistics and Army Logistic University, and was an honoree of the Fort Bliss Historical Association, honored for combat and community service.
Denson’s culminating assignment came as an instructor at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy where he was identified as one of the best to ever serve in that capacity. In 2013 he was put in for the Legion of Merit, concluding his distinguished 26-year career.
He holds an AAS in Law Enforcement from Central Texas College, a BA in Ministry from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology, a BAS in Resource Management from Troy University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education with University of Maryland University College in Instructional Technology.
Recently, he was selected for a 2-year fellowship with the Military Child Education Coalition to serve as a parent advocate. He spends most of his time now as a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club on Andrews Air Force Base, coaching soccer, basketball and t-ball. Earlier this year he was selected as a Distinguished Alumni on the Killeen Independent School District.
James R. Estepp
James R. Estepp is the president of the Board of Directors for Imagine Andrews Public Charter School. Estepp has been an influential member of the Prince George’s County business community for many years. His organization, the Andrews Business Alliance, helps to spur business and development in the areas surrounding Andrews Air Force Base. Estepp works closely with senior base leadership as a liaison to the Prince George’s County community.
In addition to Alliance, he serves as director of operations for the Greater Prince George’s Business Roundtable in Bowie. Estepp received a BA in History from Rutgers University.
