Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) will be in session Wednesday, April 4, pending Board of Education approval, through Friday, April 6 to make up for weather-related closures.
Schools were originally scheduled to be closed Tuesday, April 3 through Friday, April 6 for Spring Break, as noted in the 2017-18 calendar. The Prince George’s County Board of Education will consider designating April 4 as a makeup day at its March 29 meeting.
Schools have been closed six days this school year for inclement weather (Jan. 4-5 and 17, and March 2, 21-22). The 2017-18 school calendar planned for five inclement weather makeup days.
Due to a statewide mandate by Gov. Hogan, the school calendar must start after Labor Day and end June 15.
